general information
Categorizing Your Role-plays
So you have a plot and everything's written up all nice, and you have a few people interested, but then you go to make your thread and it falls into two board categories. Or it could call into two categories.
Generally, put it where you think it works best.
We're not picky about it. Unless we think you really put it out of place, we won't move it or think anything of it. The board categories are mostly to just try to sort things by broad category so that a variety of different things can fall under them. The only concrete thing is that if it's taking place in the universe of a fandom or is very closely related to a fandom (say, an original warriors clan) we'd like it in the fandom board.
Thread Markings
To advertise whether your thread is available to join or private or any number of things, you should put a thread marking in the title. Below are examples, because as long as you can get the point across, everything's good.
Open - open for joiners
Closed - no longer accepting players or characters
Jump In - open, and no specific joining requirements are needed (though, a bio may, so check the thread rules before posting)
Private - thread was made for a specific person or people, and is only for them
Open 1x1 - a role-play between two people that is currently open and accepting another player
Closed 1x1 - a role-play between two people that is closed
1x1s and private threads go in the main boards. There isn't a special place for them, at least right now. If there is demand one will be made.
Sign Ups
In general, the sign-up thread and character profile thread are optional. They're for thread makers who may wish for slightly more organization. If you don't want one, don't feel obligated to make one. It's completely your choice.
